123-W-Punta-Negra-LST

123 The lower part of the cliff correspond to reef core lithofacies, with sigmoidal bedding, prograding to the south (left) of a 5th order LST, whereas the bedded lithofacies correspond to overlying beds of outer-lagoonal facies of the following AST. Rocks of the uppermost 1/3 of the cliff lie on a prominent discontinuity with beds that correspond to the inner-lagoonal facies of the AST of the subsequent 5th-order sequence. Note in the lower part of the cliff, the sigmoidal-bedded reef core passing backwards (to the right) into horizontally bedded lagoonal facies. Center of Punta Negra on the south east coast of Mallorca, Spain (Kendall and Pomar 2004).
